President Buhari has been scheduled to address the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in the United States on Tuesday, September 19, 2017.

The President of Nigeria is listed as number seven on the provincial list of speakers.

Buhari is expected to speak after the leaders of Brazil, the United States, Guinea, Switzerland, Jordan and Slovakia.

AREWA YOUTHS SEND MESSAGE TO NNAMDI KANU OVER OCTOBER 1 QUITE NOTICE

Arewa youths have sent a message to Igbos living in the north assuring them that no evil will befall them while also criticising Nnamdi Kanu for rejecting the withdrawal of the quit notice.
The youths had caused public outcry when they issued an ultimatum to Igbos to vacate the north but they withdrew the notice a few months after.

The Sun reports that Shetima Yerima who is the president of the Arewa Consultative Forum said it didn’t matter whether Kanu accepted the withdrawal or not.

He said: “Did I do it for him or in the interest of the country? His rejection of the suspension of the quit notice is not important to me.

“What we did was to demonstrate that we have a culture. We give respect to our elders and it was to ensure that the country remains together.

“The country is above anybody. On that basis, his acceptance or not is not important but I know that he also is not speaking for the Igbo. It is a minority view of few people making all sorts of noise.

“It is not really important to me and I do not want to join issues with them. Nigeria is above everybody and I stand on the path of one united country. We have to build a nation that we can call our own

“Nobody would do anything. Anybody who does anything, we make sure that the authorities arrest the person. We are in charge.

“Nobody should be scared of anything. Our youths are reasonable; they are known to respect one another; we listen to our leaders unlike some other parts of the country. But having said that, you can be rest assured that there is no cause for alarm.

“So, let Nigerians be rest assured that nothing would befall anybody by God’s grace and we are working towards that and we would give the government the maximum support. Our brothers across board, we would make sure that no evil would befall them. That is the position of things.”

He also insisted that he has nothing against Igbo people as a lot of his friends are from the south east.

He said: “A lot of my friends are Igbo people. I have nothing against the Igbo.

“It did not end there; let me also demonstrate that to you; my first wife is from Calabar, the old south-eastern region. We have two kids. I have a good relationship with the Igbo.”

Meanwhile, the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, September 5, granted the request seeking to serve court processes on Kanu and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) through substituted service.

The court, however, ordered that other respondents in the matter, namely: the Inspector-General of Police, the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Attorney-General of the Federation be served personally.

3. INITIATE:

Keep your intimate life spicy. This is one area that should not be neglected. Make time for one another, have sex regularly. Kiss like you did when you first started dating. Touch each other. And be open to new ideas, experimentation, and be sure to take plenty of romantic rendezvous’. You are responsible for your marriage. If it is failing, do not just blame your partner. Look inward. Where have you fallen short? What can you do to bring it back on course? Remember, it takes two people to make a commitment work. And you both have to be in it 100 percent.

FEDERAL HIGH COURT IN LAGOS ORDERS DIEZANI ALISON-MADUEKE TO PERMANENTLY FORFEIT HER $37.5MILLION BANANA ISLAND MANSION TO FG

A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the permanent forfeiture to the FG of a $37.5million Banana Island property bought in 2013 by former Minister of Petroleum Resources Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke. .

A vacation judge, Justice Chuka Obiozor, made the order yesterday following a motion on notice argued by EFCC. The judge also ordered that $2.7m and N84.5m realised as rent on the property be permanently forfeited to the government. .

Justice Obizor, on July 19, directed the EFCC to temporarily seize the property designated as Building 3, Block B, Bella Vista Plot 1, Zone N, FG Layout, Banana Island Foreshore Estate, consisting of 24 apartments, 18 flats and six penthouses. .

The court directed that the temporary forfeiture order be published in a newspaper and adjourned till yesterday for anyone interested in the property and funds to appear and convince it why they should not be permanently forfeited. .

During proceedings yesterday, EFCC counsel Anselem Ozioko told Justice Obiozor that the publication order had been complied with. He noted that despite going the extra length to personally serve the second and third respondents in the case Afamefuna Nwokedi and a company, Rusimpex Limited, they did not show up in court to contest the forfeiture order.

The EFCC had earlier told the judge that the Banana Island property was reasonably suspected to have been acquired with proceeds of unlawful activities by Mrs. Alison-Madeueke. .

The anti-graft agency said its investigations revealed that she bought the property sometime in 2013 for $37.5m, which she paid in cash. According to the EFCC, the $37.5m was moved straight from the former minister’s house in Abuja and paid into the selller’s First Bank account in Abuja. .

“Nothing could be more suspicious than someone keeping such huge amounts in her apartment. Why was she doing that? To avoid attention. We are convinced beyond reasonable doubt because as of the time this happened, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke was still in public service as the Minister of Petroleum Resources,” the EFCC lawyer, Ozioko, had told Justice Obiozor.
