AMERICAN RAPPER JAY Z ACKNOWLEDGES THE POWER OF EDO STATE JUJU

A week ago, Jay-Z released his highly anticipated 13th studio album, 4:44, on TIDAL. A physical edition of the album, out July 7, includes three bonus songs: “Adnis,” “Blue’s Freestyle/We Family” and “MaNyfaCedGod,” all of which were first heard in the visual teasers for the album. But the internet is buzzing over “Blue’s Freestyle/We Family,” which lets Jay-Z’s daughter shine.

Blue raps for 45 seconds, saying, “Everything, everything is my only single thing / Everything I hear is my answer…I never hear that / I be in the posse / Never seen a ceiling in my whole life.”

Some lyrics are hard to decipher—she’s only 5 years old, after all—but she’s clear in the freestyle refrain: “Boom shakalaka / Boom shakalaka / Everything in shaka / Everything in faka.”

Meanwhile, in the four verses for “Blue’s Freestyle/We Family,” Jay-Z raps, “I got bloodlines in Benin, that explains the voodoo / Got poison in my pen, thank god for Lulu / And thank the heavens for BB, her Creole roots run deeply / I’m crazy, you ever leave me I might have to put an egregious / Spell for us to stay together / Facelessness / Maison Margiela embracing / ‘Cause more than ever we gon’ have to stick together, feel me? / More than ever my n—as gon’ have to stick together, feel me? / Already ahead of your end, in the foreign bumping Fela, feel me? / Was out in Havana when that had that banned forever, feel me? / F–k embargoes, I’m a narco / Colombian ties, shout out to Dapo / OG Juan also / Feel me? / All the fellas from the favelas round me, feel me? / Lagos, all the bodies around me, feel me? / Bismillah, all the gods around me / Mexicanos ain’t building f–king walls around me / I feel like Ali / Viet Cong never done s–t to me, feel me? / More worried about Trump than anyone overseas, feel me? / I’m out in the art clubs in London sipping tea, feel me? / I’m out in Michelangelos in FTs.”

“Blue’s Freestyle/We Family” isn’t the first time a Jay-Z song has featured his daughter; the scion made her musical debut in his 2012 “Glory,” and she was in Beyoncé’s 2014 song “Blue.”

The TIDAL edition of 4:44 features 10 original songs. Since its release, the album has been certified platinum. “Props to Jay! He’s done it again!” RIAA Chairman and CEO Cary Sherman said in a statement Wednesday. “Another platinum album adds to an already iconic career.”

9:08am: INEC begins proceedings to announce the election results.

The voting in Edo state was concluded on Wednesday, September 28, with many going all out to support their preferred candidates.

Following conclusion of voting on Wednesday, INEC has said that there are no results yet, informing that collation of results for the governorship election would begin today, September 29.

It was gathered that the decision to commence the collation today is in connection with the late arrival of results from the 18 local government areas.

The Edo election has been tagged

two horse race between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), though nineteen candidates are vying for the ticket to the Government House.

Edo state has a total of 1,925,105 registered voters; 192 Registration Areas (RAs); 2,627 Polling Units (PUs); and 4,011 Voting Points (VPs).

Shortly after conclusion of elections in all parts of Edo state, some unofficial results began to trickle in, with the PDP taking an initial lead, and the APC taking over somewhere midway.

Reports suggested that after collation of 727 Polling Units out of 2,672 Units in Edo state, APC has a total of 69,196votes while PDP has 75,088votes; with over 13000 rendered invalid.

A total of 25,000 police officers were deployed across the state to ensure peace and security during the polls, while 44 observer groups were accredited by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as election monitors.

Edo Decides: Live Updates, Results and Situation Report

After months of intense campaigns and preparations, electorates in Edo State will today storm polling stations to elect the next Governor of the State.

Already, the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had confirmed that 19 political parties are jostling for the governorship position.

Nineteen male governorship candidates, 15 male running mates and four female running mates are in the race.

The governorship candidates with female running mates are Mr Thompson Osadolor, KOWA; Adviser Nowamagbe, UPP; Ishaka Ofemile, AA and Ukonga Frank, NNPP.

Other governorship candidates include Osagie Ize-Iyamu, PDP, with John Yakubu as running mate and Godwin Obaseki, APC, with Philip Shaibu, a member of House of Representatives, as running mate.

However, the two main contenders in the race are Ize-Iyamu of PDP and Obaseki of the APC.

Who Did This? Headless Body Causes Panic In Edo (Photo)

There was panic among residents of Auchi community in Etsako West area of Edo State, following the sad and shocking discovering of the headless corpse of a man on Benin-Okenne-Lokoja expressway.

It was gathered that the body of the victim identified as Clement was found in front of Campus Two of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi.

The late Clement was likely a commercial motorcyclist as his severed head was sighted by the roadside, a little distance from a motorcycle.

What are the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death?

Sources gave conflicting accounts on the cause of his death. While some residents claimed that the deceased was allegedly murdered by suspected ritualists, others said that he might have been crushed to death by a heavy-duty truck on Sunday.

But the Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Moses Bature, who confirmed the incident, said that it was a suspected case of a fatal accident involving a hit-and-run driver.

Mr. Bature also said that the corpse had been deposited at a mortuary.

He said, “It is hit-and-run. We did not see the driver. We only carried the body to a mortuary.”
