Chelsea’s Victor Moses has been named the PFA Fans’ Premier League Player of the Month for November.

Moses, 25, has impressed for the Blues this month, featuring in all three of their games — victories over Everton, Middlesbrough and Tottenham Hotspur — to help them to the top of the Premier League table.
The Nigeria international, who has been converted from a winger to a wing-back by Antonio Conte this season, scored the winner as Chelsea beat Tottenham 2-1 on Saturday.

Moses has excelled since being deployed at wing-back in Conte’s 3-4-3 formation, playing in all seven of the consecutive league victories following the Chelsea boss’ decision to change systems.

Big Congrats to Him!

Moses’ prospects of establishing himself at Chelsea looked bleak before this season, having spent the last three campaigns out on loan at Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham respectively.

Liverpool, Arsenal through in League Cup

Daniel Sturridge served a reminder of his worth to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp with both goals in a 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in England’s League Cup on Tuesday.

Sturridge has started three of Liverpool’s last four Premier League games on the bench, but he seized his chance at Anfield to send last season’s beaten finalists into the quarter-finals.

Arsenal also progressed, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scoring twice in a 2-0 win over Reading, while Hull City won 2-1 at second-tier Bristol City.

“Overall summary, it was a deserved win,” Liverpool manager Klopp told Sky Sports.

“Big number of chances and a wonderful goalkeeper from Tottenham (Michel Vorm). All good. I think it was entertaining.

“He (Sturridge) did what he has to do and it was brilliant. He could have scored three or maybe four, but it was really good. That’s his big strength and he showed it again.”

Klopp and Spurs counterpart Mauricio Pochettino between them made 21 changes to their starting line-ups, with visiting midfielder Eric Dier the only player to keep his place from the weekend fixtures.

Klopp gave a debut to 18-year-old right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold and a full debut to midfielder Ovie Ejaria, 19, while 18-year-old Cameron Carter-Vickers started at centre-back for Tottenham.

Liverpool, who lost on penalties to Manchester City in last season’s final, took a ninth-minute lead when Marko Grujic’s deflected cross from the right was stabbed in by Sturridge.

Spurs stand-in goalkeeper Vorm repelled long-range efforts from Sturridge and Divock Origi before Georginio Wijnaldum freed the England striker to score his second goal in the 64th minute.

Dutch striker Vincent Janssen reduced the arrears with a 76th-minute penalty after Lucas Leiva took an unnecessary nibble at Tottenham substitute Erik Lamela.

But it was the home side who came closest to scoring again, with Vorm saving spectacularly from Sturridge and substitute Danny Ings.

“I’m pleased with the performance, but not the result. We fought until the end and created chances,” said Spurs manager Pochettino.

“It was a great experience and we can take a lot of positives.”

Arsenal joined Klopp’s men in the last eight after seeing off second-tier Reading, who are managed by former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam.

Oxlade-Chamberlain struck twice for Arsene Wenger’s much-changed team, drilling home in the 33rd minute and netting again with the aid of a deflection with 12 minutes to play.

Headers from centre-backs Harry Maguire and Michael Dawson took Hull through at the expense of Bristol City, who replied through Lee Tomlin’s 50-yard solo goal in stoppage time.

Aleksandar Mitrovic and Mohamed Diame each scored twice as Championship leaders Newcastle United routed 10-man Preston North End 6-0 at St James’ Park.

Leeds United twice came from behind and survived playing extra time with 10 men, after making all their substitutions and losing a player to injury, to edge Norwich City 3-2 on penalties following a 2-2 draw.

The tie of the round takes place on Wednesday, when Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola resume hostilities as Manchester United tackle Manchester City at Old Trafford.

Chelsea visit London rivals West Ham United and Southampton host the Premier League’s bottom club, Sunderland.

Manchester City star blasts supporters, critics and warns Barcelona after 4:0 humiliation

Barcelona defeated Manchester City 4:0

De Bruyne missed several chances to score

The star however is convinced the Citizens are playing the right way
Despite total Barcelona’s dominance Manchester City’s young talent Kevin De Bruyne  sees no reason they cannot beat them at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s return to Camp Nou was spoilt by a menacing Lionel Messi. The Argentine score thrice for the Catalans as Claudio Bravo saw red. Jeremy Matheiu also saw red for the Spanish side. Neymar added gloss to the scoreline.

And De Bruyne reacted:  “We know what’s going to happen, that people are going to say it’s bad, but I see it differently. People can say whatever they want, but this is the way we need to play and we will win a lot of games like this.

The attacking midfielder said: “I don’t think we played a bad game. We know what people are going to say, that we were bad, that we didn’t create anything, but I think [they] feel differently.”

He added: “Obviously if you lose 4-0 it’s bad, but I think the way we want to play is the good way, even a good team like Barcelona didn’t have it so easy as people thought.”

Revealed: Why world record signing Paul Pogba is struggling at Manchester United

Being the most expensive footballer in the world is a particularly sharp double- edged sword.

On the one hand , Paul Pogba is now rich beyond his wildest dreams . He has more money than he ever could have dreamed of when growing up in Lagny – sur- Marne , a downtrodden eastern suburb of Paris , and is playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Yet the expectations are always likely to be nigh- on impossible to fulfil.

Over time, with ever- increasing transfer fees , this price – tag won ’ t look so big . Or so Manchester United hope .

But in the short – term if he is to keep the critics of his back then he needs to perform at an elite level or at least something very close

It has not escaped anyone’ s notice that in United ’ s disastrous last seven days – a run of three consecutive defeats – Pogba has been poor and at some point we need to ask why that is .

Warning signs were there when Jose Mourinho’ s men only snuck by Hull with a last- gasp winner . Since then it ’ s been three defeats and the spotlight has flitted between the Special One himself, record signing Pogba and skipper Wayne Rooney as observers and fans look to apportion blame.

Pogba has played the majority of his time as a United player with Marouane Fellaini alongside him . As mute-turned – headline – spitter Paul Scholes pointed out after Thursday’ s debacle in Rotterdam , he needs more help .

“ At Juventus he played in a three in midfield and he was sensational . He played in a two with France in the summer and wasn ’ t great. He has played in a two so far this season and hasn’ t been great.

“ What I would say is that he is the only one who has been trying something . The other night (vs Feyenoord ) wasn ’ t his best performance but he was the one player giving everything and the one player wanting to create something .

“ We want to see the Juventus Paul Pogba. He played in a brilliant football team there with loads of experience around him , not just at the back but in midfield as well.

“ To get the best out of him , I think you have to play him in the three. ”

Vincent Enyeama In Talks To Return To Super Eagle

Super Eagles caoch Gernot Rohr reportedly wants Vincent Enyeama to return to the national team due to the poor form of incumbent number one goalkeeper Carl Ikeme at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Super Eagles Goal keeper Carl Ikeme

The Vanguard reports that the talks are yet to take place, with Rohr deciding not to rush things but the German could be forced to change his mind due to the poor form of Ikeme.

Vincent Enyeama retired from the international football after the shot-stopper fell out with Coach Sunday Oliseh in the team’s camp in Belgium.

The drama in Belgium allegedly started after Oliseh told Enyeama to leave the camp for questioning his choice of Ahmed Musa as captain.

Enyeama denied this allegation saying his confrontation with gaffer Sunday Oliseh arose after his dead mother was insulted.

However, Carl Ikeme who is the current number one choice recently conceded four goals in a 4 – 0 loss for Wolverhampton Wanderers against Burnley.

Although, Enyeama is not fairing better as he also conceded four goals against Monaco in a 0-4 loss for Lille in the Ligue 1.
